Hope you find Pt 2 as useful.

I really don't want to appear like I'm putting people off from buying the GASLIGHT Compendium though, or disrespecting the hard work Buck and Chris have put into it. It's a truly beautiful book absolutely packed with material. Having all the different variants in one place opens up a lot of options for tweaking the game to taste. For example, I'm thinking of using the A&E wound levels for unattached main characters in order to make them a little more resilient for scenarios. I've also heard of people using bits of BATTLES in their regular GASLIGHT games to speed things up.

Its just that with so many options all intermingled I personally found it hard to pick out the thread of the basic game mechanics, so I can only imagine how hard it would be for someone coming to the game for the first time.Dr Vesuviushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05255420207375021875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668577041425925534.post-24785076710709480402011-08-14T01:27:25.908+01:002011-08-14T01:27:25.908+01:00Brilliant! Excellent intro! I have the basic older rulebook and recently purchased the hardcopy compilation, but have not gotten around to playing yet. With an intro like this I think I will follow the recommendation to start with the basic rulebook since I have it and get some games under my belt.
Looking forward to part 2!
Thank you!Fitz-Badgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15510866929782142007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668577041425925534.post-39888448860673938162011-08-12T15:53:29.987+01:002011-08-12T15:53:29.987+01:00Excellant right up /overview of the rules! have go...Excellant right up /overview of the rules! have got the individual rule books but have never used them , might be tempted now - going to re-read then basic book again .
